Some buildings reach a point where they have outlived the purpose for which they were built without finding another, or have found one nobody anticipated. Spaces designed for an ideology, a specific function, a different time, and survived all of that: still standing, still inhabited, or simply still there.
Some buildings are neither monuments nor ruins, and maybe both. Some stay on borders — physical, ideological, functional — that trigger more questions than answers.
In Limbo is a photographic series by photographer Roberto Conte, drawn from twenty years of his explorations around the globe about architecture living in a state of suspension that opens many possible paths, even if eventually only one will be chosen.
