Francisco Cifuentes is an architect and holds a PhD in Architecture from UPC Barcelona. He is co-founder of the architectural studio Aulets Arquitectes. In 2021, he launched Amarar, a project that explores, through practice, the use of materials derived from the effects of climate change, with the aim of regenerating ecosystems (www.amarar.eu). He also researches the work of Jørn Utzon in Mallorca as a case study of how architecture can adapt to territory, local materials, and craftsmanship. He was a professor at ETSAR (Reus) and ETSALS (Barcelona), and a visiting professor at the Peter Behrens School of Arts (Düsseldorf). He has led workshops at UIC Barcelona, the Aarhus School of Architecture, and Università IUAV di Venezia. He is currently a Full Professor of Architecture and Resources at ETH Zurich.
